The Birth of Jemma

June 15th, 2020

Being invited into someones birth space is always something I am so grateful for. Birth is such a magical experience and I am so lucky to be able to document these moments for all the families I’ve worked with.

The births of my own children were hands down the best days of my life, it only makes sense to me to have these moments photographed.

The night of June 14th, I went to bed knowing Jill was in early labor, expecting the call at any moment. I woke up around 1 am and asked for an update and I was told LEAVE NOW! I didn’t waste any time, literally jumped right out of bed and grabbed my gear and was on my way. When I left my house my ETA on my GPS was 2:17 AM, thankfully there was no one on the road, I got my camera all ready in the car and arrived by 2:07 AM. I was so excited to know I made it in time!

As soon as I got there I saw Jill walk out to her birth pool and seconds later I heard her bearing down, I knew it was going to be so fast! 11 minutes after I arrived(@2:18 AM one minute after my GPS said I would be there!) baby girl Jemma made her entrance, a she decided to make quite the entrance thats for sure! She was born encaul and came out SO fast her cord snapped.
