Why I choose to use flash at births

Flash at a birth?!?! I know it sounds crazy but it is not what you think!
When I use flash at a birth it is not like a cell phone camera flash, or even a standard camera flash. I use what is called a speedlight and I never point it directly at the subject I bounce it right off the ceiling! Honestly most of the time no one even notices it but it helps preserve SO many details. Birth space is generally dark and while I can work with any lighting situations it does lessen quality when my flash isn’t used. When I use my flash I point it behind or above me so its bounced towards the subject and I also use it in the lowest power possible!

If you really prefer not to have flash used I can always do that though!
